Club IQ Golf Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Gacka Engineering, LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Club IQ Golf mobile application ("the app"). We designed Club IQ Golf to collect as little personal data as possible. This page explains what we do collect, why, and how to remove it.

1. Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password through our authentication provider (Supabase). We do not store your password in plain text and we do not see it.

Club and bag data

The clubs you enter (name, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance) and any bag profiles you create are stored in your account so they sync across devices.

Course download history

We record which golf courses you've downloaded to your account. This is used to prevent duplicate downloads and to keep your downloaded courses available across reinstalls.

Subscription information

Club IQ Golf requires an active ClubIQ Unlimited subscription ($3.99/month or $39.99/year, after a 2-week free trial). Payments are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store — we never see, receive, or store your credit card number or any payment instrument details. Subscription management and purchase validation are handled by RevenueCat, a third-party infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives: the subscription product purchased, purchase and expiration dates, renewal and trial status, the platform/store, and an anonymous app user ID (a random UUID that corresponds to your Club IQ account — it is not your email or name). We store a matching entitlement record (status, product ID, and period end date) in our own database solely to verify your access to the app. Existing users from before the subscription launch have been permanently grandfathered into free access.

Location data

Club IQ uses your device's GPS while you're using the app and, with your permission, in the background during a round of golf. Your location is processed entirely on your device to calculate distances and identify the course you're on. We do not record, transmit, store, or share your location data — ever — whether you are on or off a golf course.

Motion data

Club IQ uses the device's motion and barometer sensors to improve GPS accuracy and calculate elevation. This data is processed on your device only and is never transmitted off the device.

Crash reports and diagnostics

If you have not opted out, Club IQ uses Sentry to collect anonymized crash reports and error diagnostics. These reports contain the stack trace of the error, your device model, your iOS version, and an anonymous installation identifier. They do not contain your name, email, location, account contents, or any personally identifying information.

What we do not collect

• We do not run any advertising, marketing, or behavioral tracking SDKs.
• We do not collect the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
• We do not receive or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or any payment instrument details. All payments are handled by Apple.
• We do not sell, rent, or share any user information with third parties for marketing.
• We do not use cookies or web tracking pixels in the app.

2. How we use your information

We use the information described above strictly to:

• Authenticate you and sync your bag data across devices
• Calculate accurate on‑course distances and club recommendations
• Identify which course you're playing
• Track which courses you've downloaded so we don't re‑download them
• Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs (Sentry, anonymized)
• Verify your subscription status and grant access to the app's features

We do not use your information for any other purpose.

3. Third‑party services

Club IQ relies on the following third‑party services to function:

• Supabase — authentication, encrypted account storage, and course database. Supabase's privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
• Open‑Meteo and similar weather APIs — live wind and temperature data for the calculation engine. Only the latitude and longitude of your current location are sent to retrieve weather data; no personal identifiers are sent.
• USGS EPQS — elevation lookups. Only coordinates are sent; no personal identifiers.
• Golf API providers — third‑party golf course data sources used to populate course geometry. No user data is sent to them.
• Sentry — anonymized crash reporting. Sentry's privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy
• RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation. Receives the subscription product, purchase/expiration dates, and an anonymous account identifier (a UUID — not your email or name). RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple / App Store — processes all payments and manages billing on your behalf. Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy

4. Data retention

We retain your account information and bag data for as long as your account exists. Course download history is retained for the lifetime of your account. Crash reports are retained for 90 days by Sentry before automatic deletion. Your subscription entitlement record is deleted along with your account. Apple and RevenueCat retain their own transaction records independently for accounting, tax, and legal purposes — those records are outside our control.

5. Your rights and choices

Access and correction

You can view and edit your bag, clubs, and account email at any time inside the app.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Club IQ account at any time from inside the app:

1. Open Settings
2. Scroll to the bottom
3. Tap Delete Account and confirm

When you delete your account, we permanently delete the following from our servers within 24 hours: your account credentials, your bag and club profiles, your saved settings, your course download history, and your subscription entitlement record. This action cannot be undone.

Disabling location and motion

You can disable location and motion access at any time in iOS Settings → Club IQ. The app's core features (GPS distance, weather effects, elevation effects) will be limited or unavailable without these permissions.

Disabling crash reporting

To opt out of crash reporting, contact us at ClubIQ@gacka-egr.com. Crash reports are anonymized but you can request a global opt‑out tied to your account.

Managing your subscription

You can view, change, or cancel your ClubIQ Unlimited subscription at any time from Settings inside the app, or directly from iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions. If you started a free trial, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends.

6. Data security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored hashed and salted by our authentication provider. Database access is restricted by row‑level security so users can only access their own data.

7. Children's privacy

Club IQ is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is designed for and marketed to adult golfers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us at ClubIQ@gacka-egr.com and we will delete it.

8. International users

Club IQ Golf is operated from the United States. By using the app, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or via the email associated with your account. Continued use of Club IQ after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
